Sonya Balsara is currently making her Broadway debut as Jasmine in Aladdin on Broadway in New York City. She recently worked on the Pre-Broadway lab of The Karate Kid (Ali Mills), Sense and Sensibility (Lucy, Elinor u/s) at Theatreworks Silicon Valley, and West Side Story (Maria) in Tokyo, Japan. Her film credits include FBI (CBS), Mozart in the Jungle (Amazon Prime), and feature film Boarding School (Amazon Prime). She graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama from the New Studio on Broadway and Stonestreet Studios Conservatory (Film/TV Acting).
Sonya also creates short-form video content for children, specializing in art and mindfulness. She has worked with UNICEF, Beanstalk, and NearPod to create accessible content for kids of all backgrounds to grow and learn. She also creates written and visual content for the Immersive Van Gogh and Immersive Frida Kahlo exhibits in New York City and San Francisco.
